Stockbridge Reserve(members only) - Except for the sighting of House Martin, the current poor weather with NE winds, is delaying migrants at the reserve. By this weekend, Garden, Sedge & Whitethroat are normally recorded but are still awaited. Willow Warbler, Chiff-Chaff and Blackcap continued to sing despite the cold conditions. Swallows searched for any flies on the water.

Strid walk this morning produced 37 species in total including 2 male Pied Flycatchers and a brief glimpse of a male Redstart, also Common Sandpiper (pair), Mandarin (2), Dipper; plenty of Sand Martins but only one Swallow; Willow Warbler, Nuthatch, Treecreeper, Chiffchaff, Green & Great Spotted Woodpeckers; Lapwing, Curlew, Oystercatcher, Mallards with ducklings, Goosander (pair); and most of the usual passerines present except for Long-tailed Tit…
No sign nor sound of Wood Warblers yet however…
