Glovershaw, Baildon
On a bright, sunny afternoon, after heavy rain it was pleasing to see that a strong passage of birds is underway. Seven Wheatears were feeding amongst newly cut hay and two juvenile Whinchat flitted about on tall ferns. A rather 'tatty-looking' male Stonechat sat on the wall where breeding has probably taken place and from the Weecher area could be heard the calls of a Buzzard as it soared with a juvenile. A Swallow 'mobbed' a hunting Kestrel and post-breeding parties of Meadow Pipits and Goldfinch were active.
