At Glovershaw this pm, the Golden Plovers had increased to 70 in number and the Lapwings seemed tobe in two groups, one contained 72 birds whilst others were dispersing across the fields and moorland. 2 Grey Partridge (a pair?) were seen by Golcar Farm and there was a flock of Redwings feeding by GlovershawFarm.

Lapwing - about 120 on the Golcar Farm wet areas togather with 15 Golden Plover. A flock of 50 Redwing were feeding in the fields below Gloversahw Farm and 15 Fieldfare were behind Brackenhall farm. There were also three Stock Doves and two Mistle Thrush in that area.

Knotford (rather quiet): 1 pair gadwall, 8 pairs wigeon, 3 pairs goldeneye, 19 tufties including 15 males, 4 pochard including 3 males, 148 coots, 5 moorhens, only 1 little grebe, 4 great crested grebes

500+ curlew and 50 oystercatcher came into the Private Wetland Site at dusk last night
