Five Skylark still on the Hill with much overhead activity and constant calling. Nineteen Meadow Pipits in the horse paddocks were different, these being the first to be noted for a considerable period of time - possibly wintering birds. Otherwise just a handfull of Common Gulls and a couple of Carrion Crows

The number of Mandarin Ducks has increased this year to c60 on the River Wharfe near the Strid woods. Now we're in the winter months the car parking fees do not apply during Monday to Friday at both the Strid and Cavendish Pavillion carparks.

Norr Hill, Wilsden - Grounded Skylarks on the Hill reduced to 24 (groups of 3 and 21). Only a single grounded mipit located on the Hill today, however a large group of c50 was flushed from a new location in one of the fields on the approach footpath. A big influx of Linnet today with c170 in several large groups

Stonechat on the wall along the Glen Road and on the
northern section a family of five Stonechats were
close to Birch Close Lane. 2 Skylarks and 2 Reed Buntings,
several Meadow Pipits and a flock of 25 Linnets flying over,
disturbed by a Kestrel hunting over the moorland fringe.
A Swallow flew south. Golcar Farm; Chiffchaff and 5 Goldcrests

Small numbers of Mistle Thrush either hanging around or passing over, plus a few Song Thrush. 88 Redwing almost all going either N or NE. A few small Finch flocks including two of Goldfinch. Loads of Blackbirds around in the bushes, with possible double figures in a berry laden Hawthorn by the car park. 3 Snipe heading NE having come up the line of Cleckheaton Rd.
