Curlews with young; 1 Wheatear; and a bizzare sighting of a Grey Partridge running at a Brown Hare!  there were two partridges walking across a short grassed field with no chicks in tow but when the hare walked closeby the male partidge ran at it and chased it away.

The passage of Wheatears continued with 12 birds in three groups spread over three fairways.  A post-breeding flock of over 400 Starlings were taking advantage of the conditions.

On a miserable morning after heavy overnight rain, there were 16 Wheatears spread out over Baildon Golf Course. A 100 Wheatear have been recorded here since 20th April.

On a bright, cool morning, there were seven Wheatears on the Golf Course, including a very bulky male, possibly of the Greenland race.  Over 70 Wheatear have passed through here since the 20th April.  Eight Golden Plover occupied a grassy area at the of Birch Close Lane.

Four Wheatears were feeding on the Golf Course on a cold, breezy morning. A Red Kite drifted over and a dozen Lapwings rose to shepherd it away.  Both Lapwings and Snipe are busily tending to chicks.

Reva Hill area - 3 pair of Redshank, 6 Wheatear, 3 Oystercatcher plus 5 Golden Plover (all Northern Race), 11 Skylark, Willow Warbler. Lapwing & Snipe may have been affected by the recent cold & wet conditions. Only 30 Lapwing & a single Snipe counted. One Hare seen.

Private Wetlands (permit holders only) Good numbers of warblers including 2 Garden Warblers showing well near Sailing Lake, 5 Blackcap, at least 6 Reed Warblers (at least 4 in reed beds, 1 in reeds before Conservation Lake and 1 in reeds in small pond near Sailing Lake), 4 Willow Warblers and 2 Chiff-Chaffs.
Also pair of Common Terns, pair of Redshank, 3 single Great Crested Grebes, one on each of lakes and 6 – 8 Reed Buntings, mostly males.

Wheatear passage continues apace with 8 birds this morning and six yesterday (8th).  At close quarters, it was easy to see that two of the female birds had characteristics of the Greenland race leucorhoa.

Three Wheatears were feeding on the Golf Course along with eight Skylarks.  A pair of Linnets and two pairs of Reed Buntings were noted and the first Lapwing chicks are in the paddock at Golcar Farm. Snipe are continuing to display and six Golden Plover had settled at the end of Birch Close Lane.
