Stockbridge Reserve (members only) - Kingfisher, Sedge Warbler bringing food to fledged young, brief reeling from Grasshopper Warbler, Whitethroat, Garden Warbler feeding a juvenile.
Gropper started up during a noisy session's work on the hide. Bullfinch & thrushes moving in to eat the bright red berries on mountain ash.
Also Common Blue seen.

Stockbridge Reserve (members only) -Peregrine visited and swooped unsuccessfully at a perched Black-headed Gull. Reed Warbler seen in front of hide. Also Bullfinch, Willow Warbler, Whitethroat & Blackcap recorded.

Glovershaw - 2 families of Grey Partridge each with 2 chicks, 2 Stock Dove.
Birch Close Lane - Wheatear, flock of 30 Greenfinch ground feeding on horse track, 5 Stock Dove.
Below Weecher Reservoir - RLP with 2 chicks
Sconce Lane - 3 Stock Dove, plenty of Willow Warblers, 2 newly fledged Little Owls.
In the evening, Rombalds Moor - Hobby.

Whetstone Gate area - adult Wheatear with 4 juvs, plus another juv nearby.
Below Street Lane on Riddlesden Road - juv Spotted Flycatcher.

Stockbridge Reserve (members only) - 40 species recorded this morning. Swifts circling & screaming in groups of 20. In front of hide - Reed Warbler, Blackcap, Willow Warbler, Chiff-Chaff, Whitethroat along with tits & finches. Sparrowhawk visited twice and Sedge Warbler seen. Also influx of Jays with 9 birds today.

Oxenhope Area - 152 Lesser Black-back Gulls, 34 BHG, 1 Oystercatcher, 2 Stockdove, 1 Peregrine and a good movement of more than 50 Swifts heading NW between 8.00-9.30am.

Little Egret - feeding at western end of Beaverdyke Reservoir at 0930. When flushed it flew on to John O'Gaunts and was still there at 1000 as I was leaving.
2 Little Grebe (it looks as though they like to gather at the 3 reservoirs at the end of the season – there were 5 there last year)
1 male Redstart with juvenile
1 Little Owl on ruined building on northern side of reservoir
Scargill Reservoir (rather quiet)
20 – 30 Swallows hunting low over fields below reservoir plus few over each reservoir - looking very end-of-seasonish.
Also - Ilkley Lido (early morning)
6 Herons and 3 Oystercatchers on field in front of lido

Norwood Bottom :- Little Egret in dead tree then feeding in river until disturbed by dog walker, it then flew up the valley.

John O Gaunts - 1 Redstart, 1 pair Common Sandpiper, 1 pair Chiff-Chaff, 1 Little Owl, 1 Ringed Plover, 2 pair of Tufted Ducks with young, and a family of Pied Wagtails - while the crossing bridge between John o Gaunts and Beaverdyke a Little Egret flew down on Beaverdyke fed for about 2 mins the flew back up res.

Reva Hill area - Redshank still on breeding ground agitated, 2 Snipe, 4 Linnet plus Peregrine flew through. 3 adult hares & leveret seen.
Two days earlier had a post breeding flock of 120 Lapwing at Weecher Reservoir so species doing well here.
An evening visit to the edge of Rombalds Moor produced a Kestrel carrying prey at Reva, another hunting next to Graincliffe Reservoir & a young Redstart in Cabin Hill Wood, also near Graincliffe. Finally, a juvenile Little Owl was seen in Walsh Lane, above Eldwick.

John O’Gaunts Reservoir - 2 Lapwings and 2 Lapwing chicks, 2 Common Sandpiper
10 Coot including 1 pair with 1 young and 1 pair with bird still on nest
2 female Tufted Duck each with 3 juveniles, 1 and probably 2 male Redstart
Beaverdyke Reservoir - Tight flock of ~45 curlew over twice – the fields below Scargill were a assembly area last year for the species before they headed off.
Kex Gill - 2 female Tufted ducks with 5 and 2 juveniles

Edge of Baildon Moor - male Whinchat in bracken, appeared on its own. 6 singing male Reed Bunting, plenty of Willow Warbler, some carrying food. 3 Stock Dove. Small groups of Linnet.
Weecher Reservoir - post breeding flock of 120 Lapwing.

Stockbridge Reserve (members only) - amongst the 41 species recorded - many young Willow Warbler, Chiff-Chaff, pair of Bullfinch with juv, Sedge & Reed Warbler, Kingfisher, adult & young Blackcap & Whitethroat, young Reed Bunting, 2 Peregrine.
The numbers of young birds would indicate a good breeding year.

Bingley Bog North - male Lesser Spotted seen briefly from 3 rise locks overlooking old allotments. Bird flew from elderberry bush to apple tree giving brief but good view. Then moved into dense tree area. Also Sedge Warbler singing from bush amongst wetland area in field nearest to 5 rise locks.
