A flock of 15 Pheasants were feeding here and at nearby Sconce Lane a post-breeding flock of 21 Greenfinch had found a good food source. A family of three Kestrels were hunting across the moorland fringes and five Stock Dove, including one using a nestbox at Golcar Farm, were seen. Nearby, a male Reed Bunting was similarly engaged, taking a large green caterpillar to its nest. Another was singing from a wire on the Glen Road and a pair of Linnet were close-by and two more pairs noted in the vicinity of Birch Close. Two post-breeding flocks of Starlings were in the area, a Kestrel was hunting over the moor and three pairs of Swallow were around Golcar Farm.
