Long-eared Owl Survey 2006

If anyone is interested in covering a site(s) for this years survey please could they contact Andy Jowett at andy.jowett@btopenworld.com

It is hoped that we will cover all previous breeding sites as well as potential new ones. In 2005 we discovered three new sites and it is thought there are many more throughout the recording area. The 2005 survey produced a total of 15 pairs with young.

Adults will be calling from now onwards but an easier way of finding succesful nesting sites is listening for the young hunger calling around dusk from mid-May onwards.

thanks

Andy
