Lower & Upper Barden Reservoirs
Cuckoo which was calling from the small area of trees near the buildings at Lower Barden. six male Stonechats and two females. There were three Wheatears (2 males and a female) by the track between the two reservoirs. Willow Warblers were singing from every available bush, shrub or tuft, counted 16. On the moorland at least 20 Canada Geese, 35 Greylags.12 Mallards on the Upper Reservoir which was host to a few thousand Black-headed Gulls. Four Lesser black-backed Gulls were present and about half a mile to the east, another colony of about 200 black-headed Gulls were establishing their breeding site. Wrens, Dunnocks and Reed Buntings were commonly seen on the heather and possibly 20 pairs of Curlew on this wide area of moorland.

Bingley - 4 Waxwings still present

John O'Gaunt's and Beaver Dyke reservoirs,
3 Yellow Wagtails with a pair of Grey wagtails close by. In another part of Haverah park, near where the outfall from Beaver Dyke reservoir crosses under the track to the dam, there were 6 Redpoll with a flock of 10 Goldfinch and a Marsh tit

The flock of Golden Plovers were back on the sloping field beyond BirchClose Lane. 156 were in their beautiful full breeding plumage. Three Wheatears (2 males and a female) were in the fields alongside Birch Close Lane and a Little Owl was on the wall whilst a pair of Oystercatchers flew towards Weecher. I flushed two pairs of Grey Partridge and a pair of Stock Dove were by the large Owl box at Golcar Farm. Everything else was as it has been with Snipe, Lapwing and Curlew at their breeding site.

140 Golden Plovers were using the open fields by Birch Close Lane. There's probably up to four pairs of Stonechats is this area of rough pasture and moorland fringe. During the past week two pairs of Grey Partridge, four pairs of Curlew, a couple of pairs of Snipe, 20 pairs of Lapwing and a pair of Oystercatchers have been noted. This is addition to breeding Skylarks, Meadow Pipits, Reed Buntings,Little Owl, Stock Dove and Kestrel

five Wheatears(2 males and 3 females) in the fields along Birch Close Lane.
Little Owl flew off the wall and a Swallow was feeding over the fields.
A pair of Grey Partridges were seen on the moor edge and a pair of Oystercatchers were probing into the soft ground in the 'horse field' along the Glen Road. A pair of Stonechat were in this area and four pairs of Curlew and two pairs of Snipe were in the fields around Golcar Farm.

Timble Ings - 2 Redpoll (1 with brief song)

Glovershaw this morning there were three Wheatears (all males), on the golf course area whilst two Snipe displayed overhead and females 'chipped' away on the ground. Two pairs of Grey Partridge were disturbedand probably three pairs of Curlews were noted feeding in various places on the moorland fringe and surrounding fields. Lapwings wheeled overhead and three Stonechats (2 males and a female) were feeding along the wall on the Glen Road. In addition to numerous Skylarks, Meadow Pipits and Reed Buntings,

Stockbridge -
Swallow, 3 Sand Martin, Peregrine, 2 Kestrel, 3 Redpoll,
2 Oystercatchers, 2 GSW working on hole, Water Rail,
Bullfinch.

Whetstone Gate -
200 followed by 50 Pinkfoot flying west north-west at mid day,
Red Kite, 2 male Stonechat (1 singing), 3 Snipe drumming.

Pair Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers - Hirst wood moving round in first 100mtrs from car park east side near to canal. Also plenty Nuthatch in woods, Goosander on river, Dipper and Grey wags upstream of auqaduct. 2 oycs on sewage works.
