Gallows Hill is very pleasant at this time of year, warblers are still in full voice, all types active and singing. A walk through the waterside woodland produced five Garden Warblers, seven Blackcap, a Whitethroat and four Chiffchaffs. Continuing the walk we went through the fields where the circus has been temporarily established and passed Zebras, Camels and a couple of Llama. Quite exotic for Otley!
Kingfisher carrying food zipped by, a male Redstart flew upstream and a female Goosander with 11 young birds, now almost the same size as her, entertained us for a good while as they battled against the flowing river. On the return walk, a White Stork appeared circling over Midgeley Farm and east Otley.
