Glovershaw
A surprise bird at Crook Farm, alongside the caravan park, was a female Lesser Spotted Woodpecker feeding with a flock consisting mainly of Blackbirds and Mistle Thrush. Later on my walk, I flushed a flock of nine Grey Partridges, by Golcar Farm, in a boggy field where cows are grazing. I then disturbed a Dipper by Glovershaw Farm, and watched it hurry down stream. In trees adjoining the top of Shipley Glen, 20 Redwings were taking berries from a hawthorn.
