Glovershaw,
A flock of 45 Golden Plover were feeding in the field behind Golcar Farm. This is a traditional place for these birds to assemble before they disperse in April. About 20 Lapwing were establishing their breeding territory, Skylarks were prominent on the moorland fringe, but more ominously 40 Graylags had settled in a field along Glovershaw Lane. A flock of 40 or so Common Gulls was still in the vicinity, but otherwise it was rather quiet on such a brilliant, clear day.
