Shipley Glen
Awakened this morning by an adult Green Woodpecker which, together with a juvenile, were clinging to a telegraph post near Brackenhall Farm.  These birds have been around for most of the week.  At Crook Farm a family of Whitethroats, two adults and two juveniles were feeding amongst the bracken.  Elsewhere, Willow Warblers break into a weak and tired song and occasionally call, Mistle Thrush have gathered in small flocks and Grey Partridge are tending to their broods.
