Shipley Glen
Male Lesser Spotted Woodpecker was drumming on a horse chestnut tree along the Higher Coach Road. It was making a call similar to a Green Woodpecker. Five pairs of Jay were disputing territory and making lots of noise as they flew constantly across the Glen. A pair of Grey Wagtails on the Glen Beck, a pair of Coal Tit, three calling/singing Nuthatch, a Treecreeper, a pair of nesting Mistle Thrush, a pair of GSW and a Green Woodpecker made up the pick of the birds.

A flock of 12 Redpoll were feeding on alders and four Great Spotted Woodpeckers were chasing and disputing territory. Two pairs of Nuthatch were prominent and eight Jays (in four pairs) were visible whilst a Song Thrush was singing. A male Lesser Spotted Woodpecker was watched on the High Coach Road, at the bottom of the Glen. It flew into a large bush and started drumming and calling ( a call that resembled a muted Green Woodpecker). The bird then departed towards Hirst Wood and on the way back the call of an adult Green Woodpecker could be heard across the Glen

There were 30+ Canada Geese, 20+ B.H.Gulls, 15+ Mallards,
6 coot & a Moorhen on the water
At the feeding station:
Robins:5, Dunnocks:3, Pheasants:1M & 1F, Wood Pigeons:6,
Great Tits:8+, Blue Tits:3, Coal Tits:6, L.T. Tits : 2's & 5.
